The ODI series decider against West Indies turned out to be a thriller match with many amazing performances from both sides. The fans witnessed a thrilling show by Rohit Sharma, Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, KL Rahul, Ravindra Jadeja, and Shardul Thakur, who kept everyone at the edge of their seats and helped India seal the series.
It looked like a comfortable win for team India at 188 for 2 with the Indian batsmen at their best but the major blow came when the team lost three quick wickets that saw scoreboard at 228/5. But Virat Kohli held his nerves and continued with his brilliance as he went on to score 85 runs in 81 balls, where he smashed 9 fours.
Later after Virat went back to pavilion, it was Ravindra Jadeja and Shardul Thakur who took the charge and gave a jaw-dropping performance together.
Shardul Thakur played a stunning knock as a tail-ender and helped his team beat the visitors by four wickets in the team’s run-chase of 316. Shardul Thakur remained calm even in the nerve-wracking situation. He smashed a six and two boundaries.
Virat Kohli, the skipper of the Indian cricket team was so impressed with his knock that he took to his Twitter and praised the Mumbai based cricketer with a tweet in Marathi, his local language. Virat Kohli also shared a picture of him with the Mumbai based star. Praising Shardul Thakur for his performance, he wrote:
“Tula maanla re Thakur” (which roughly translates to- “I bow down to you Thakur”)
