Fans Started Chanting ‘Dhoni Dhoni’ When KL Rahul Made A Mistake Behind The Stumps

The first One Day International match between India and Australia turned out to be a disastrous one for the Indian cricket team as there was complete domination from the Australian cricket team. The Indian team was outplayed by the Australian cricket team in all the departments of the match, who are leading the series with 1-0.

As the Indian team failed miserably, every cricket fan was missing the presence of Mahendra Singh Dhoni on the field, who had always rescued team India from a tough situation like this either with his finishing skills or his wicket-keeping and advice for the bowlers.

While the selectors and the team members have moved past MS Dhoni, the fans still haven’t. He played his last international match against New Zealand in the semi-final of the World Cup. It has been more than six months since MS Dhoni took a sabbatical from the game but the fans are still hoping for his solid comeback.

Since then, Rishabh Pant has been fulfilling the responsibility of the wicket-keeper in the team. However, he has not been able to fulfill the expectations of the fans and fill the big boots of MS Dhoni. And for the same reason, the cricketer is always at the receiving end of trolling and criticism from the cricket fans. In fact, every now and then he is reminded of the same fact with every mistake that he makes by chanting “Dhoni-Dhoni” in the stadium.

However, with Rishabh Pant unable to take the field due to concussion, KL Rahul was doing the wicket-keeping duties last night during the first ODI. He was the one who was at the receiving end of criticism from the fans.

Well, it happened on the first delivery of the 25th over, KL Rahul made an error behind the stumps while trying to collect an inside edge off Australia opening batsman David Warner’s bat. And as the ball was going towards the boundary, the chants of “Dhoni-Dhoni” filled the stadium.
