IPL 2020: Meet The ‘Oldest’ Player From Each Team

The new season of the Indian Premier League is just around the corner, with only three months left to it. All thanks to the IPL, it has increased the love of fans towards this game to many folds. 1. Pravin Tambe – Kolkata Knight Riders:

Pravin Tambe is 48-years-old and is probably the oldest cricketer in all the teams of IPL. He has been roped in by Kolkata Knight Riders at his base price of INR 40 lakhs.

2. Dale Steyn: Royal Challengers Bangalore:

Dale Steyn, the veteran speedster, used to be a regular feature in the IPL.  This time he has been roped in by the Royal Challengers Bangalore at his base price of INR 2 crores. He is 36 years old, the oldest one in their team.

3. Lasith Malinga – Mumbai Indians:

The legendary speedster from Sri Lanka, Lasith Malinga is 36-years-old and is the oldest one in the team. Malinga is the all-time highest wicket-taker with 170 scalps in 122 matches. Mumbai Indians retained him for IPL 2020 at his base price of INR 2 crores.

4. Imran Tahir – Chennai Super Kings:

Chennai Super Kings has the oldest and most experienced players in their team. The oldest of all the cricketers of CSK is the South African bowler Imran Tahir, who proves that age is just a number. He is 40 years old and emerged out as the highest wicket-taker of IPL 2019 with 26 scalps in 17 matches.

5. Wriddhiman Saha – Sunrisers Hyderabad:

Wriddhiman Saha is 35 years old and the eldest one in Sunrisers Hyderabad. He has been retained by his team for ₹1.2 crores. He has scored 1765 runs at a strike rate of 131.13 in 120 matches he has played in IPL.

6.Amit Mishra – Delhi Capitals:

Amit Mishra, the veteran spinner, has had a glorious career in IPL with a total of 157 wickets in the IPL in 147 matches. He was retained by his team at INR ₹4 crores.

7. Chris Gayle – Kings XI Punjab:

The universal-boss, Chris Gayle is one most feared batsmen in T20 cricket, having scored 4484 runs in 125 matches. He is 40-years-old and is the oldest cricketer in Kings XI Punjab.

8. Robin Uthappa – Rajasthan Royals:

Robin Uthappa has been roped in by Rajasthan Royals for IPL 2020 at ₹3 crores. He is 34-years old and the oldest ones in their team. He has had an impressive IPL career having scored 4411 at a strike rate of 130.5 and an average of 28.83 in 177 matches.
