IND vs NZ

Virat Kohli Backs ‘Under The Scanner’ Kane Williamson Ahead Of The T2OI Series

Cricket fans across the world are waiting for the upcoming series between Inda and New Zealand as two of the best batters and captains–Virat Kohli and Kane Williamson–will be up against each other. Both, Virat and Willamson, have earned the love and respect of cricket fans across the world with their outstanding batting skills and love for the game.

India are a very strong side but even for them, beating New Zealand in their own backyard would require a mighty effort. But, after getting whitewashed at the hands of Australia, Kiwis will be under a lot of pressure and Virat Kohli and his boys could put them under pressure by going in with an aggressive mindset.

Team India is currently in New Zealand where they would be kicking off the tour with the five-match T20I series beginning Friday at the Eden Park. Speaking ahead of the game, Virat Kohli said that he just wants to focus on what he can do to take the Indian cricket forward.

“One thing that I have done is I just focus on what I can do for the team and the vision that needs to be there to take the team forward,” Virat Kohli was quoted as saying by stuff.co.nz on the eve of the series opener.

When asked about his views on Kane Williamson’s captaincy, who is under scanner after getting white-washed in Australia, the Indian captain said Williamson has done wonderfully well for his team and he has the trust and respect of his teammates.

“I don’t think leadership can always be determined by the results. Its also about how you can get the team together and get the guys functioning under you as well, which I think Kane has done wonderfully well. He has the respect of his teammates and he has the trust of his teammates, is what I can see, and he’s also a very, very smart cricketer,” he added.
