While talent is an important aspect, luck also plays an important role in the game of cricket. On a number of occasions, cricketers are able to make it to the national side and get the opportunity to represent Team India at the international level because of their talent and hard work. However, they aren’t lucky enough to secure their place in the team for much longer. While on the other hand, some cricketers are lucky enough to make it big for the country with their talent and luck.

And as they say, behind every successful many there’s a woman, there have been times when lady luck has done wonders for the cricketers.

1. Rohit Sharma:

Rohit Sharma is one of the brightest names in the world of cricket today and one of the most successful skippers of IPL franchise — Mumbai Indians, having won the league 4 times. He made his debut in the year 2007 but failed to secure his place in the team for many years. It was MS Dhoni, who showed faith in him and gave him the opportunity to open the innings for Team India and since then there has been no turning back.

However, you will be surprised to know that this was the time when Rohit Sharma began dating Ritika Sajdeh. The couple dated for six years before tying the knots in 2015.

2. Krunal Pandya:

Krunal Pandya is a big name in domestic cricket and IPL. However, even after doing so well in the domestic circuit, Krunal was struggling to make a spot for himself in the national squad. However, things changed after he tied the knots with his longtime girlfriend Pankhuri Sharma in 2017.

After his wedding, in 2018 he got a chance to represent the team India at the international level. Today he is regarded as India’s T-Twenty specialist all-rounder. So far, Krunal Pandya has played in 13 matches so far, taking 14 wickets with a strike-rate of 131.52. 

3. Mayank Agarwal:

Mayank Agarwal, the talented batsman from Karnataka, is currently doing amazing as an opener in Test cricket for team India. Mayank has struggled a lot to make it big. Despite being one of the most consistent players in the domestic circuit, he wasn’t getting a chance to play for the national side.

Mayank Agarwal married his childhood friend Ashita Shood on 4 June 2018. Call it coincidence or sheer luck, Mayank got a call to represent India after five months of his wedding on December 2018 and since then there has been no turning back for the cricketer. 

4. Sanju Samson:

Sanju Samson, Kerala’s promising wicketkeeper-batsman got a chance to represent India in 2015 after an amazing season in the Indian Premier League. However, he was dropped soon from the team after a single match. Following his snub, he played consistently brilliant games in the domestic circuit and became the brightest names in IPL and domestic cricket.

However, tables turned for the cricketer after he tied the knots with his girlfriend Charulata on 23 December 2018. After his wedding, he got the biggest opportunity in his cricketing career as he got a chance to play for India again after almost 5 years. 

5. Manish Pandey:

Team India’s middle-order batsman Manish Pandey, who made his debut in the year 2015, has been in and out of the team continuously, however, whenever he got the chance to represent India, he has redeemed the opportunity well.

However, after he got married to his long-time girlfriend Ashrita Shetty on 2 December 2019, the influence of lady-luck was seen in Manish Pandey’s career. His cricketing career has gradually picked up.
