IPL 2020 is just a few weeks away as the fans learned about the official schedule of The Mid Wicket tournament yesterday . It will be interesting to see which team ends up winning the IPL as almost all the squads have a perfect balance this year. Mumbai Indians have the mightiest batting line-up with the likes of Rohit Sharma, Kieron Pollard, Chris Lynn, Quinton de Kock and Suryakumar Yadav present in their squad.
On the other side, Kolkata Knight Riders have the best pace bowling attack with the trio of Pat Cummins, Prasidh Krishna, and Lockie Ferguson set to wreak havoc with their 150 kmph deliveries. Chennai Super Kings have the most reliable spin attack with Ravindra Jadeja, Harbhajan Singh, Imran Tahir, and Mitchell Santner set to play for them. It is said that a team is nothing without its captain and even if the team has all resources, it will fail if the captain is not proper.
So, on that note, let us have a look at the captains of all teams in IPL 2020 and their rankings as per their skills.
8. Virat Kohli – Royal Challengers Bangalore:
Although Royal Challengers Bangalore has the best team every year, they fail to even make it to the playoffs because Virat Kohli cannot use the perfect player at the perfect time. This year, they will look to turn things around with some miracles in IPL 2020.
7. Shreyas Iyer – Delhi Capitals:
Delhi Capitals’ young skipper, Shreyas Iyer has the least amount of experience to lead a team at any level. The right-handed batsman is known for his aggressive approach however, he faltered last year when the team reached the final stage.
6. KL Rahul – Kings XI Punjab:
KL Rahul will make his IPL captaincy debut in 2020. The wicket-keeper batsman is yet to prove himself as a good IPL captain but he has the experience of leading the Indian T20I team. So, expect him to make an impact.
5. Dinesh Karthik – Kolkata Knight Riders:
Kolkata Knight Riders have the best set of Indian uncapped players in IPL 2020. Their skipper, Dinesh Karthik has a perfect knowledge of team strategy which is the main reason why every day a new match winner emerges from their side.
4. Kane Williamson – Sunrisers Hyderabad:
Sunrisers Hyderabad has reached the second round of every IPL season where Kane Williamson has captained them. He did miss a few matches due to injury last year but this year he should be fit to play all games.
3. Steve Smith – Rajasthan Royals:
One of the smartest cricketing brains of the world, Steve Smith led Rising Pune Supergiant to their maiden IPL final in 2017. This year he will be the sole member in the leadership group which will help in bringing the team’s ‘A’ game to the table.
2. MS Dhoni – Chennai Super Kings:
MS Dhoni has achieved mastery in terms of captaincy having led an IPL team for more than 10 years in IPL. He will don the Chennai Super Kings jersey once again and make his heroic comeback to the cricket field.
1. Rohit Sharma – Mumbai Indians:
Undoubtedly, the best captain in IPL history is Rohit Sharma. Having won 4 IPL titles, there is no one who comes close to Sharma. It will be intriguing to see if he could lead the team to their fifth title in 2020.
