Kevin Pietersen Told The Media About His First Impression Of Virat Kohli

Virat Kohli, the Indian skipper, who is known for his thrilling batting skills in all the formats of the game, lately is going through a rough time. His form in the recently concluded ODI and Test series against New Zealand has not just brought him criticism from fans and experts alike but has also led to people questioning his captaincy.

However, in this tough situation, many cricketers have come out and have shown their support to the Indian skipper. Recently, the former England skipper Kevin Pietersen, who has played with Virat Kohli for his team Royal Challengers Bangalore in IPL, has shown his support to the Indian skipper.
Recently, in an interview, Kevin Pietersen opened up about many things about King Kohli. He revealed how when he used to play with Virat Kohli early in his career, KP somehow knew that one day Virat Kohli will become a great player. He said:

“Sitting on the bus with Virat and batting with Virat, I knew he was destined for greatness because of how he approached the game and the way he learnt and the questions he asked

He added:

“He was a chubby little fella back then and I still take the mickey out of him for it. But his determination to be the best player he could possibly be was evident.”

Kevin Pietersen also recalled his time playing for RCB with Virat Kohli. He said:

“But you could see this was a youngster who was determined to get his team over the line. He wasn’t just going to give his wicket away and it didn’t matter how many Tests I’d played or how much more senior I was. We do have an incredible friendship, probably because of the way I treated him when he was a youngster and how I helped and guided him at the start of his career.”
