RCB Asked Fans To Name Their Favorite Opening Match But With A Twist

RCB Asked Fans To Name Their Favorite Opening Match But With A Twist: Its 30th March 2020 and the Indian fans would have been prepping up for the second night of IPL 2020 had the Coronavirus pandemic not taken over the world. Because of the widespread disease, BCCI had no other option but to postpone the tournament. Recently, news broke out that the Indian cricket governing body is considering hosting the tournament in September. Although there is no official confirmation about the same, it is unlikely that the tourney will take place this summer.

Talking about IPL 2020, as per the original schedule, Mumbai Indians and Chennai Super Kings would have squared off in the opening match of the season last night. Over the last 12 years, the fans have witnessed several memorable opening matches in IPL history. Be it Brendon McCullum blowing away the Royal Challengers Bangalore with his incredible knock or Brett Lee routing the stumps of Unmukt Chand with a magical delivery, the fans have witnessed several memorable moments in the first match of IPL.

Popular IPL franchise, Royal Challengers Bangalore recently shared a post on Instagram where they asked the fans about their favorite opening match in IPL history. However, they asked them to exclude the 2008 and 2019 seasons because the Bangalore-based franchise got crushed miserably by their opponents in the first match of those two seasons. Kolkata Knight Riders shattered them in the opening game of the inaugural IPL tournament while Chennai Super Kings mauled them in match number one of IPL 2019. RCB captioned their post as follows:

“In an ideal scenario, the IPL was supposed to begin today! Tell us what’s your favourite opening match ever. PS: Since we’re the ones asking, we will exclude 2008 and 2019.”

Hence, the admins of the RCB Instagram page avoided the trolls smartly. Had they not mentioned this exclusion then the fans would have badly trolled them in the comments box by mentioning the first matches of 2008 and 2019 as their favorite ones.
