Twitterati Trolled Sanjay Manjrekar After The BCCI Dropped Him From The Commentary Team

Popular Indian commentator Sanjay Manjrekar made a lot of news last year and most of them were for all the wrong and controversial reasons. From calling Ravindra Jadeja a ‘bits and pieces’ cricketers to questioning the credentials if Harsha Bhogle during the live commentary, Sanjay Manjrekar made a lot of fans unhappy with his commentary. It won’t be wrong to label him as the most controversial commentator ever.

Now as per the latest report in the Mumbai Mirror, Sanjay Manjrekar, who is a regular feature in the commentary box, has been dropped from the BCCI’s commentary panel. Yes, you read that right.

Former batsman and commentator Sanjay Manjrekar will be left out of the panel for the upcoming season of the Indian Premier League, which has now been postponed to April 15 because of the outbreak of Coronavirus all around the world.

Recently, during the first ODI match between India and South Africa, which was called off because of rain, Sanjay Manjrekar wasn’t present at Dharamshala, while the other commentators like Sunil Gavaskar, L. Sivaramakrishnan, and Murali Kartik made their presence felt and reported the Mumbai Mirror.

While there’s no clarity over why Sanjay Manjrekar was dropped from the commentary panel, but as per the reports, the BCCI is not happy with his work. A source revealed:

Maybe he will be left out from the IPL panel too. At this stage it is not on top of our mind. But the fact is they are not happy with his work”

Meanwhile, much-awaited new season of the Indian Premier League, that was slated to kickstart from 29th March has been postponed to 15th April because of the COVID-19 pandemic, which has caused widespread fear across the globe.

So far, 80 people have been infected with COVID-19, while the numbers have crossed 1,22,000 globally with approx 5000 losing their lives to the virus.
