“Sachin-Sachin… Sachin-Sachin”, the chants filled the stadium once again, giving everyone goosebumps and major nostalgic feels as the legendary cricketer walked out to bat during the inaugural match of Road Safety World Series between India legends and West Indies legends at Wankhede Stadium on Saturday.
It was after five and a half years when Sachin Tendulkar walked padded up once again to rekindle memories. He walked out to bat with Virender Sehwag. This iconic duo was famous for tormenting bowlers during their prime time and they were at it again. The duo rolled back the time and led their side to the victory with seven wickets and ten balls to spare.
At 46-years of age, Sachin Tendulkar, the batting maestro still looked hungry for runs. He smashed some glorious shots making the fans believe in the fact that age is just a number. Tendulkar smashed Pedro Collins for 2 fours and later got a hattrick of boundaries off Suleiman Benn.
The iconic duo took team Indian to 59 runs for no loss in the first 6 overs and were involved in a partnership of 83 runs before Sachin Tendulkar was dismissed for 36 runs to give West Indies legends their first breakthrough.
It was nothing less than an eye treat for the cricket fans as Sachin holding the bat again gave us some major nostalgic feels. Every time Sachin Tendulkar went for a pull or struck a drive and the crowd going crazy with “Sachin-Sachin… Sachin-Sachin’ it was a flashback of the good old times of Indian cricket times.
