India has produced some of the greatest batsmen of all time. While a lot of Indian batsmen have a great record at home, most have struggled outside Asia. This is because the Indian batsmen are not used to playing in the conditions overseas.
Due to this reason, performances overseas are considered as the gold standard for the Indian batsmen. While even prolific batsmen have struggled at the time, there have been instances when the bowlers have brilliant knocks in overseas Test matches. Let us look at some of the bowlers who have scored a Test century outside Asia.
3. Ajit Agarkar:
Ajit Agarkar had a horrible time in Test series in Australia with the bat in hand. After scoring 19 runs in the first innings in the first Test, he registered five ducks in a row. A lot of questions were raised about his technique but he answered everyone by scoring a Test century at Lord’s.
When Agarkar came to bat, India was 170/6 while chasing the target of 568. While India was in a hopeless position, the Mumbaikar entertained everyone by going for his shots. He scored an unbeaten century at the Mecca of cricket but could prevent India from losing the match by 170 runs.
