Co-incidents are a part of everyone’s daily life, however, when it comes to cricket, co-incidents never fails to amaze us. Over these years, the game of cricket has witnessed many amazing and shocking co-incidences.

Here, we bring you a few interesting and lesser-known co-incidents that took place in the history of Indian cricket. Have a look:

1. India’s win margin when Sachin, Sehwag, and Rohit hit double centuries:

One of the most amazing coincidence happened in Indian cricket history. Team India when both Sachin Tendulkar in 2010 and Virender Sehwag in 2011 scored their maiden ODI double tons, team India won the game with a margin of 153 runs.

The incident repeated itself when Rohit Sharma scored ODI double hundred in the year 2014 against Sri Lanka, team India won the game with a margin of 153 runs.

2. MS Dhoni’s first test and ODI century came against Pakistan with a score of 148:

MS Dhoni has played many memorable knocks for team India. It was in the year 2005 when he scored his maiden ODI ton against Pakistan at Vizag. Playing an amazing knock, he had scored an amazing 148. Surprisingly, MS Dhoni’s first test century also came against Pakistan at Faislabad and interestingly he registered the same score of 148 during his maiden test century also.

3. R Ashwin and Dennis Lillee picked their 300th test scalp on the same date:

Dennis Lille’s record of 300th test wickets was broken by India’s test specialist R Ashwin on 27 November 2017. Interestingly, Lillee had picked his 300th Test wicket on the same date 36 years ago, i.e, November 27, 1981.

4. Three Indian captains and same highest individual ODI score:

It is a coincidence that the three Indian cricketers Sourav Ganguly, MS Dhoni, and Virat Kohli registered their highest ODI scores as 183. Interestingly, all three of them, later on, went on to become the skipper of team India in each of the three formats of the game.

5. Nelson and the magical number:

It was during the 3rd day of the Test match between South Africa vs Australia when Nelson scored ‘111’ runs to claim victory in the Test match. However, his team needed exactly 111 runs when the clock struck 11:11 am on the 11th day and the date was 11/11/11. It was a co-incident that was not known by many.

6. Sachin Tendulkar = Alastair Cook + Michael Clarke:

Sachin Tendulkar finished his Test Career with an unimaginable tally of 15, 921 runs including 21 centuries. It was during December 2013, when both Michael Clarke and Alastair Cook were playing their 100th Test for their respective nations. And the tally of these two cricketers equaled the total tally of Sachin Tendulkar’s 200 Tests.

7. FIRST AND CENTENARY TEST: SAME RESULT:

It was in the year 1877 when the first-ever Test match was played in 1877 between England and Australia. The game went in favor of Australia, who won it by a margin of 45 runs. Interestingly, exactly after 100 tests, the game was once again played between Australia and England and once again the match went in favor of Australia, who won it by a margin of 45 runs.
