All Time IPL XI Consisting Of Only West Indian Players

IPL started in 2008 and the tournament soon caught the attention of the entire World. The tournament attracted attention from star players all around the World. However, since the start of the tournament players of the West Indies have dominated the proceedings. The Caribbean flavor has been ever-present in the tournament. The players from Isles of the Caribbean have won many hearts and have proved their worth in the tournament.

However, few West Indies player has engraved their names in the history of the league as all-time best. Let us take a look at all-time IPL consisting of West Indies players in IPL:

Chris Gayle:

The West Indies star has established himself as one of the best limited over cricketers in the World. However, the story of Gayle’s domination started from IPL. Gayle who started his IPL journey with KKR attained the status of an all-time legend with Royal Challengers Bangalore. Gayle owns the record of maximum sixes in the IPL and is also the owner of the highest individual score in the league. Chris Gayle has managed to score 4484 runs 125 matches. Currently employed with Kings XI Punjab, Gayle could become the first West Indies batsman to reach the landmark of 5000 runs in the upcoming edition.

Evin Lewis:

The West Indies opener is a part of the Mumbai Indians squad and played a pivotal role in the 2018 campaign. Lewis who has participated in two IPL editions is establishing himself as a feared opponent. His aggressive batting style is what makes him a must-have on any side. Lewis has scored 430 runs in 16 innings.

Lendl Simmons:

Simmons played an important role in two of the title-winning campaigns for Mumbai Indians. The 35-year old Trinidad opener is a seamless player and can bat across the order. He has 1079 runs in 29 innings.

Nicholas Pooran:

The 24-year old wicket-keeper batsman is the latest sensation to come out of the Caribbean. The left-hander has been sensational in recent times and was grabbed by Kings XI Punjab in the first season. However, bad team management was one of the prime reasons for his failure. However, his potential is undoubted and Pooran is expected to rule the roster in the upcoming season. After scoring 168 runs in his first season, he will play for Delhi Daredevils in the upcoming season.

Kieron Pollard:

The Trinidad star was first spotted in the Champions Trophy where he won several games single-handedly. He was soon bought by Mumbai Indians in the auctions and rest, as they say, is history. Pollard has been a mainstay for Mumbai Indians and has played a pivotal role in building a dynasty. He has 2755 runs for the Indians in 148 games. Pollard has also managed to grab 56 wickets.

Dwayne Bravo:

Dwayne Bravo has been one of the pioneers for T20 Cricket. One of the most consistent performers of all time Bravo started his career with Mumbai Indian before moving to Chennai Super Kings in 2011. The player has been one of the most important players for CSK since then and has been a rock in their system. Apart from one year with Gujarat Lions in 2016 Bravo has spent all of his years since 2010 with Chennai Super Kings and has won several games with his all-round abilities. One of the most popular overseas players in India, Bravo has managed to score 1483 runs apart from grabbing 147 wickets in 134 matches,

Andre Russell:

Andre Russell is one of the most influential players ever to have played in IPL. The right-hander is known for his exceptional hitting and is amongst one of the most feared players in T20 circuits. After starting his career with Delhi Daredevils he moved to Kolkata Knight Riders in 2014 where he played an important role in a titular campaign. Russell has managed to score 1400 runs 64 matches at a staggering striker rate of over 184. He also has 55 wickets under his belt.

Jason Holder:

Holder is one player who has underachieved in his IPL career. The current skipper of West Indies has featured in three IPL seasons with three different teams in namely Chennai Super Kings, Sunrisers Hyderabad, and Kolkata Knight Riders. However, he has failed to perform in any of his stints. Though, Holder still has age on his side and would look to turn the tide. He managed to score 38 runs in 11 games apart from grabbing five wickets.

Sunil Narine:

The mystery spinner has played his entire IPL career with Kolkata Knight Riders. He started his career as a pure bowler and literally instilled fear in the opponents. Narine is often regarded as one of the most difficult bowlers to face. He has also proved himself as an abled batsman in the top order. He has 771 runs in 110 innings. Narine also has 122 wickets under his belt.

Kevon Cooper:

Kevon Cooper is inarguably the most under-rated player in this list. However, his slow deliveries set a precedent for all the upcoming bowlers. Cooper who played for Rajasthan Royals managed to score 33 wickets in 25 games.

Samuel Badree:

Samuel Badree is one of the most underrated West Indies players. However, Badree proved his worth playing for Royal Challengers Bangalore and was the go-to bowler for Virat Kohli in difficult situations. Badree managed to grab 11 wickets in 12 IPL games.
