Dia Mirza Reveals Her Favourite World Cup Memory As An Indian Cricket Fan

On September 19, 2007, Yuvraj Singh made everyone jump out of happiness as he smashed six-sixes in an over. In that iconic moment, Yuvraj Singh had the world at his feet. He became the first cricketer to hit six-sixes in an over in a T20I. It is, to date, one of the most satisfying things to watch for any cricket fan.

Yuvraj achieved this feat against t against England fast bowler Stuart Broad in a T20 World Cup match in Kingsmead Durban and etched his name on the history books.

The thing that made Yuvraj Singh’s innings even more special was the situation of the game. Team India was in a tight spot as they had to beat team England to keep their hopes alive to make it to the semi-finals of the T20 World Cup.

The iconic moment began when team India was on 171/3 at the end of the 18th overs in their first innings. On the crease were MS Dhoni and Yuvraj Singh, who were looking determined to finish off on a high by scoring as many runs during the death overs.

Though it has now been years to that iconic moment, the memories are still afresh in every cricket fans’ minds.

Recently, Bollywood actress Dia Mirza shared her favorite cricket world cup memory and it was the memory of Yuvraj Singh hitting six-sixes in an over. She further revealed how she felt after Yuvraj hit the second six and by the time he hit his 6th six, she was dancing. She wrote:

My favourite Cricket World Cup Memory is remembering how I felt right after @YUVSTRONG1 hit his 2nd six in the #T20WorldCup on 19th Sept 2007. It was a mix of anticipation & nervous energy. By the time he hit his sixth, I think I might have been dancing! @stc_india @iStreetChild”
