Regardless of the result of this game, TKR and St Kitts will finish at the top and the bottom of the points table respectively. However, a win here would restore some pride for St Kitts who have had a dismal campaign so far as they have won just one game out of 9.
If St Kitts manage to beat TKR, they would be the first team to be able to do so at the group stage this season as TKR, so far, has been unbeaten with 9 wins out of 9 games.
Here are our fantasy cricket tips for match 29 of CPL 2020 –
The pitch is likely to play alright in the first game. It might be a bit on the slower side, but the batsmen with long levers or those who are prepared to use their feet and reach the pitch of the ball will be able to play the big shots.
The spinners will again be vital, especially those who bowl into the pitch and bring the surface into play, rather than looping the ball.
Predicted XI of both teams
St Kitts and Nevis Patriots
Chris Lynn, Evin Lewis, Joshua de Silva, Denesh Ramdin (WK), Ben Dunk, Colin Archibald, Jon Russ Jaggesar, Imran Khan, Ish Sodhi, Rayad Emrit (C) and Sheldon Cottrell
Trinbago Knight Riders
Lendl Simmons, Sunil Narine, Amir Jangoo, Kieron Pollard (C), Darren Bravo, Tim Seifert (WK), Dwayne Bravo, Fawad Ahmed, Anderson Phillip, Khary Pierre and Jayden Seales
Evin Lewis has scored the most no. of runs for St Kitts and Nevis Patriots, batting at the top of the order and he would like to finish the tournament on a high. The left-hander is only second to Kieron Pollard in terms of hitting the most no. of sixes in the tournament as well.
Darren Bravo has now moved up to no. 3 in the list of leading run-scorers in the tournament. He has been the unsung hero of TKR’s campaign this season. The 31-year old has walked out at no. 4 or no. 5 and has quietly done the job for the team. A lot of people would be surprised to know that he is averaging 47.80 in the CPL this season.
Kieron Pollard once again blasted 42 off just 20 balls yesterday against St Lucia and then grabbed three wickets as well with the ball later to power his team to another victory in the league.
Jayden Seales generated quite some pace last evening and although he lost a bit of control at times, he is still a wicket-taking option for TKR because of his speed. He will be a wise pick from the bowlers’ category along with the wily old fox Rayad Emrit who almost always chips in with a few wickets for St Kitts.
Captaincy pick: Evin Lewis
