St Lucia Zouks are currently at no. 3 in the CPL points table, while Jamaica Tallawhs are at no. 4. While both of them have already qualified for the playoffs, their respective current positions in the standings will remain the same whatever the result of this match might be.
While Jamaica Tallawahs will face Trinbago Knight Riders in the first semi-final, St Lucia will face Guyana Amazon Warriors in the second. However, both the teams would want to go into the semis with a win under their belt and will likely go full throttle in tonight’s game.
Here are our fantasy cricket tips for match 30 of CPL 2020 –
Since the first game would already have taken place on this surface, it might slow down a tad by the time the second game starts, but it might still play fairly decently and anything in the range of 160 batting first should be a good score.
Batting first after winning the toss would be a good call as the pitch will only get tougher for stroke-play in the second innings of the game.
Predicted XI of both teams
St Lucia Zouks
Kimani Melius, Andre Fletcher, Mark Deyal, Najibullah Zadran, Mohammad Nabi, Darren Sammy (C), Scott Kuggeleijn, Roston Chase, Javelle Glen, Zahir Khan and Kesrick Williams
Jermaine Blackwood, Glenn Phillips, Rovman Powell (C), Andre Russell, Asif Ali, Chadwick Walton, Carlos Brathwaite, Mujeeb ur Rehman, Sandeep Lamichhane, Veerasammy Permaul and Oshane Thomas
Andre Fletcher has not scored a fifty in CPL 2020 yet, but he is only second to Roston Chase in terms of scoring the most number of runs for St Lucia Zouks which clearly means that he has chipped in with a few runs in most of the games that St Lucia has played. Fletcher has scored 171 runs in 9 games at a strike rate of 127.61.
Jamaica Tallawahs have now decided to use Jermaine Blackwood at the top of the order and he is already showing signs that he is comfortable at that position as he scored 70 odd last night against Barbados Tridents. The fielding restrictions upfront allow Blackwood to express himself and showcase his range of shots.
Andre Russell is the only batsman among the top 10 leading run-scorers in the tournament to be averaging more than 70 and his strike rate is over 145 as well, but he has still not been able to make as much impact with the bat for the Tallawahs as he would have liked to and that’s probably because he has not been slotted high enough in the batting order. However, the Tallawahs management sent him at no. 4 in yesterday’s game against the Tridents and that’s where he will probably bat for the rest of the tournament.
Mujeeb ur Rahman has gone wicketless in the last 3 games, but he will still be a wise fantasy pick because of the skill-set that he has got. He might not have taken any wickets in the last few games, but he is capable enough to suddenly come up with a 3-wicket haul or a 4-wicket haul, which will fetch you a lot of points in the fantasy.
