After Suresh Raina, Chennai Super King’s most experienced Indian bowler Harbhajan Singh sensationally pulled out of the IPL 2020. Harbhajan Singh, who has been a part of the Chennai Super Kings since the year 2018, cited personal reasons behind his exit from the league and said that he wants to spend time with his family at this difficult times.
Harbhajan Singh also thanked the CSK management and wished all the luck to his team for the upcoming edition of the league. He had said:
“I will not be playing IPL this year due to personal reasons. These are difficult times and I would expect some privacy as I spend time with my family. CSK management has been extremely supportive and I wish them a great IPL Stay safe and Jai Hind,”
Harbhajan Singh is one of the most experienced bowlers of team India and CSK. Harbhajan, who last played an international game in 2016, is the third-highest wicket-taker in the history of the T20 league with 150 wickets.
As soon as the news of his departure from IPL 2020 came out, there were reports that Harbhajan Singh backed out after 13 members of CSK were tested positive for Coronavirus. However, clearing the air, a friend of Harbhajan Singh had revealed that the cricketer’s exit from the game has nothing to do with the COVID-19 cases in the team. His friend revealed:
“It wasn’t about the Covid cases in the Chennai camp. But if you have a wife and toddler staying in India for three months, your mind will be diverted and you can’t fully focus on the game. Then it doesn’t matter whether you get two crore or 20 crores. Money is last on your mind,”
