Twitterati Are Not Happy With Small Grounds In IPL 2020

IPL 2020:  Sanju Samson took out the Chennai bowlers like skittles with a cannonball locked on to its target. Though the strikes were gigantic enough and looked brilliant, a few critics claimed that they crossed the threshold only because of the diminutive stature of the ground.

Though the specifics were still to come out, the tweets were relentless and tried their best in detracting the glam from Samson’s knocks. Here are the knocks on the ground.

A tweet before the game read, “This is small ground in UAE.
Sharjah cricket ground…
Expecting a huge total…
#RR
#CSK”

The second tweet read, “Looking at today’s proceedings everyone is checking the IPL 2020 schedule to know who are the opponents of their favorite team when they play in Sharjah!!
Small ground…big bats…fireworks aplenty!!

#CSKvsRR
#Dream11IPL”

The third tweet read, “OMG…….jofra archer was on while lungi Ngidi had his heart in his mouth, too expensive can’t do much when you have a tall west indian on the crease whacking the ball easily at sharjah well, this ground is small though.
#RRvCSK
#Sharjah”

The next tweet read, “IPL 2020: How small is Sharjah ground? Six seems so easy as taking a single, while it is was completely the other way around in Dubai.#CSKvsRR”

Another funny tweet read, “Would it really help taking pace off a ball in a small ground like Sharjah? @JUnadkat clocking 100s #RR #RRvCSK”

Someone wanted to believe that it was Chennai’s game as the tweet read, “Possible in sharjah its very small ground”

The next tweet read, “Sharjah ground seemed big in the childhood. IPL and advancements in player fitness levels have made it look small. IPL 2020 #Dream11 #RRvCSK #CSKvsRR #IPLContest #Sharjah”

Another tweet read, “He will get a chance bruh!! He will be useful in Sharjah as the ground is so small that there must be fielders in the parking lot!!”

Another tweet cited, “14 runs from the fifth over! 🏏
Can we expect another run storm in Sharjah? Power hitters vs small ground! #PunditSays”

The final tweet must have come from a Chennai fan as it read, “It’s better to stop playing cricket in this small ground. #IPL2020”
