Rajasthan Royals faced Kings XI Punjab in the ninth game of the season. The Royals won the toss and invited Kings XI Punjab to bat first. The Punjab side started off in an amazing manner and smashed the Royals bowlers all around the wicket. The hero of the last game Rahul Tewatia proved extremely expensive with the ball and leaked 19 runs in just one over. Mayank Agarwal scored a century whereas KL Rahul scored a valiant 69 runs. Nicholas Pooran scored an amazing 25 runs off eight balls to take the total of the side to 223 runs.
Chasing 224 runs in their assigned quota, Rajasthan Royals steered well after losing an early wicket. The side promoted Rahul Tewatia to top four after losing the wicket of Steven Smith who scored a classy half-century. However, Rahul Tewatia who had a horrible game with the ball didn’t start any better with the bat. The player promoted as a pinch hitter started at an increasingly slow pace and could score just 14 runs in 21 balls. The team was struggling and fingers were being pointed at Tewatia for his slow innings.
A defeat looked certain for the Rajasthan side after they lost the wicket of Sanju Samson with more than 60 runs still left to win. Though, Rahul Tewatia suddenly found a fifth gear in his batting and smashed five sixes on Sheldon Cottrell in the 18th over. Tewatia didn’t hold back and cleared the boundary once again in the next over against Mohd Shami. Tewatia managed to score 36 runs in seven balls before getting out on the last ball of the 19th over. Jofra Archer and Tom Curran led the side to a victory. However, Twitter went berserk after looking at Tewatia’s effort and a storm started praising the amazing game from Tewatia and his mental strength.
Match with so many ups and downs in the last few overs left me drained. Finally, amazing win for Rajasthan. My MoM? Not Agarwal, bot Samson, but the much derided Tewatia who, after struggling from a long while, swung it his team’s way in one over

I think we should add a term to the dictionary. "Doing a Tewatia"
Rising from acute adversity to supreme prominence in just 10 mins.

First 21 balls: 14 runs
Next 8 balls: 33 runs
Every time we think we know enough, the game finds a way to surprise us.
