Zareen Khan Slams Sunil Gavaskar For His Comments On Anushka Sharma

As the thirteenth season of IPL is in its full swing, Royal Challengers Bangalore slumped to their first defeat of the season as Punjab outclassed them in every single department before inflicting a punishing outcome on them.

Out of all the talking points of the game, Kohli hogged the fanfare with two dropped catches and a woeful performance with the bat. While talking about Kohli’s poor form, former Indian batsman, Sunil Gavaskar cited, “Inhone [Kohli] lockdown me to bas Anushka ki gendon ki practice ki hai.”

People were extremely offended by this distasteful remark, anticipating this to be a sexual innuendo where it was a plain humorous statement. In fact, Sunil Gavaskar even took to the commentary box to clear out things which are extremely shameful for the fans that their crude assaults forced a commentator to clear out a controversy instead of doing his job.

Out of all the fans going against Gavaskar, Bollywood actress, Zarine Khan came to Anushka’s support without even realizing the content of the comment made by Sunil Gavaskar.

In fact, she even asked whether Gavaskar’s wife was shamed if he fielded poorly on the field. Unfortunately, Anushka was not shamed in the comment. Little or less understanding made the comment seem so. Zarine was also angry at the fact that why no credits were heaped on Anushka when Kohli batted brilliantly on the field.

Zareen stated, “Mr Sunil Gavaskar, you are a cricket legend and making such a distasteful comment on Mr Virat Kohli regarding his wife doesn’t suit you. Being a cricketer yourself once upon a time, I’m sure you know that there are good days and bad days. I’m wondering if your better half was ever accused if you didn’t perform well on the field.

“Also, I don’t remember Anushka being praised for all the great performances Mr Virat Kohli has given on the field till date. So why now?”

A few years back when Kohli failed to live up to the expectations of the fans, a lot of them slammed Anushka for being Virat’s primary cause of failure. Kohli stood up against such bullying and stated, “hame on those people who have been having a go at Anushka for the longest time and connecting every negative thing to her. Shame on those people calling themselves educated. Shame on blaming and making fun of her when she has no control over what I do with my sport. If anything she has only motivated and given me more positivity.”
