Having begun the tournament walking to bat at No. 7 Dhoni was back to his usual Number 5 position for this game. However, his side still ended up on the losing side. His unbeaten 47 off 36 went in vain as the team fell short of 7 runs.

Later, after the match, the social media was flooded with reactions on the third defeat of Chennai Super Kings. There were many who trolled, bashed, and slammed MS Dhoni for his performance and called him names and mocked his ‘aging’ factor.

However, the fan army of Thala came out in support of him and saluted his ‘never-give-up’ attitude and thanked him for trying to win an already dead match and fighting till the last ball. Fans flooded the social media with their amazing and heartfelt tributes to the legendary cricketer after his brilliant effort last night.

This time Aakash Chopra’s tweet wasn’t like a cricket expert, it seemed more like a fan of Dhoni and like any other fan of Dhoni, Aakash Chopra too hoped for a miracle off MS Dhoni’s bat till the last ball of the game.

In his tweet, Aakash Chopra hailed the legacy of Dhoni and the fact that one can’t stop believing when Dhoni is on the field. He wrote:

“The legacy of Dhoni tells you to keep believing. Even when he’s visibly physically spent and isn’t timing the ball well either. There’s something deep inside telling you to ‘not give up’. Or may be…it’s just me?? #CSK”
