Former Indian cricketer and commentator Aakash Chopra hailed Kolkata Knight Riders’ Nitish Rana for putting aside his personal loss and fulfilling his duties on-field.

Well, KKR’s batsman Nitish Rana looks in great form today as KKR is locking their horns with the Delhi Capitals. He brought up his 10th IPL half-century at the Sheikh Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi and dedicated the milestone to his late father-in-law.

Nitish Rana opened the innings for Kolkata Knight Riders alongside Shubman Gill and held his wicket tight as wickets continued to fall at the other end. Rana then formed a decent partnership with Sunil Narine.

Rana accelerated his innings well as he got support from Nitish Rana. He soon reached his half-century off 35 deliveries, which was his second of the season.

After Nitish completed his half-century, a member of the KKR squad gave him a KKR jersey with the name ‘Surinder’ on it. Nitish then showed the jersey towards the dressing room. He dedicated his 50 to his father-in-law, Mr. Surinder Mrwah, who passed after fighting a battle with cancer on October 23.

Commentators for the official broadcasters Jatin Sapru also confirmed on-air that the gesture was in memory of his father-in-law.
