Anil Kumble Revealed Why Chris Gayle Didn’t Play Against SRH: Kings XI Punjab has struggled miserably in the ongoing edition of the fray that has seen them languishing at the nadir of the points table.
They have so far had decent outings in the fray until now but have failed to cross the winning line. To add to their woes their bowling has completely given up their footing since the last game.
They have failed to claim a single wicket for 33 overs at a stretch, a record that is new in the shortest format of the game.
One of their major challenges has been the underperformance of their foreigners. Barring Sheldon Cottrell, everyone has slumped to some poor displays and there is no improvement whatsoever.
In a boundary line interview, the coach of Kings XI Punjab, Anil Kumble was asked about the whereabouts of Chris Gayle. Much to everyone’s disappointment, Kumble stated that they had plans of fielding the Universe Boss for today’s game. Unfortunately, he fell sick.
No specifics were shared about the niggle or the injury. However, fans were not really happy to know that the Universe Boss isn’t fit completely.
Kumble said that Chris Gayle had minor flu that hasn’t been keeping him well for the past three days. That is the solitary reason for Chris Gayle being excluded from today’s game.
Punjab has been rooted to the bottom of the table with just a solitary victory from 5 games and will be eager to set things right. Chris Gayle can give them the much-needed impetus at the top of the innings.
KXIP fans would be hoping that Chris Gayle recovers soon and gets ready for their next match in IPL 2020. It is true that Gayle is getting old but we are sure that he still has a lot of cricket left in him and he can still send the ball out of the ground, with ease.
