Disappointed Chris Gayle sends his bat flying!: What an outstanding knock played by Christropher Henry Gayle, who gave the biggest contribution in the KXIP innings by playing a powerful knock of 99 runs.

Before, the game kickstarted at the Sheikh Zayed Stadium, the toss was won by Rajasthan Royals, who chose to bowl first. Chris Gayle walked out to bat at no.3 and took the game by storm. He started smashing the bowlers of RR to all the corners of the ground from the word ‘go’. At 41-years of age, Gayle showed his class and proved why he is regarded as the greatest T20 cricketer of all time.

During the clash, Gayle  scored his 31st IPL fifty with a gigantic six off Rahul Tewatia and was going strong, however, a Jofra Archer’s master-class dismissed Chris Gayle on 99 runs. The sensational 50 came off only 33 balls and has set KXIP on course for a big total in this must-win game.

He was only one run short of hitting another century. Unable to hide his disappointment, Chris Gayle threw his bat in the air. He later shaked his hands with Jofra Archer, who bowled him out.

Chris Gayle walked back to the pavilion at 99 runs that he scored off 63 balls, smashing 6 fours and 8 sixes. During his knock, Gayle achieved a new milestone in his T20 career as he completed 1000 T20 maximums. Yes, you read that right.

After the match, Chris Gayle claimed that though he was out on 99 but it was a century in his head. He said:

“Fans, I am sorry. But in my mind, I scored a century”
