Rahul Tripathi Shines For KKR: As Kolkata Knightriders struggled to get their opening combination correct until now, Mc Cullum finally made amends to the batting order, introducing Rahul Tripathi to the opening of the inning.
Rahul Tripathi the Chennai bowlers leading the batting attack of Kolkata Knight Riders. He carved some exquisite strokes, some brilliant display of aggression, and some phenomenal hitting that left the Chennai bowlers in utter disarray.
Unfortunately, he didn’t get ample support from the other batsmen as wickets kept on falling at regular intervals.
Rahul Tripathi took out Deepak Chahar and Sam Curran early. He didn’t hesitate to go after all the bowlers not really caring for whatsoever came in his way.
Another impressive feat piled up by Tripathi was the perfection that he executed his strokes with. There wasn’t one single loose shot and he stitched his knock perfectly according to the context of the game.
It took KKR a lot of time and grit to introduce the youngster to the opening as they kept on experimenting with Sunil Narine who once proved his mettle in the earlier edition of the tournament.
However, once unleashed, he left an indelible mark on the game. Even in the previous match, he played a brilliant partnership with Eoin Morgan to almost seal a lost game. It was that knock that paved his way to the top.
He scored a brilliant 81 off just 51 deliveries before holing out to Shane Watson in the bowling of Dwayne Bravo.
Twitter was ecstatic about the brilliance of this youngster as it was an absolute delight to watch him play the might of Chennai Super Kings.
