Harsha Bhogle’s Tweet for Varun Chakravarthy: On Monday, the Board of Control of Cricket in India (BCCI) announced the 32-member Indian squad for the tour of Australia. Once the ongoing edition of the Indian Premier League is over, the cricketers will travel to Australia to kickstart the tour that will go on for almost two months.
As expected, the BCCI backed Virat Kohli to lead the Indian team in the Australia tour, which will be comprising four Tests, three One-Day Internationals, and a few T20Is. However, Rohit Sharma has not been named in the squad and has been kept as a standby, subject to injury issues.
There have been a few more changes as well in the squad. The biggest news from the selection room has come with the inclusion of Kolkata Knight Riders’ Varun Chakravarthy and Royal Challengers Bangalore’s Mohammad Siraj.
While, Varun has impressed one and all with his 5-wicket haul, on the other hand, Siraj was the hero in the match against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) where he bowled a spell of 4-2-8-3, in the ongoing edition of the Indian Premier League. Both the cricketers have got the big call for the upcoming tour of Australia.
Meanwhile, the fans were thrilled with the inclusion of these youngsters in the squad and soon they flooded social media with their amazing reactions on the same.
Among many, popular Indian commentator, Harsha Bhogle also took to his twitter to express his happiness after the inclusion of young talents like Varun Chakravarthy and Mohammad Siraj for the Australian squad. Harsha wrote:
“I am sitting in my room and I am clapping loudly for Varun Chakravarthy and Mohd Siraj. Love these feel good stories.”
