Here’s Why Rohit Sharma Is Not Playing In the Game Against CSK: A match between Chennai Super Kings and Mumbai Indians is always an anticipated one. Fans have been waiting anxiously for the second encounter between the two teams. However, ahead of the game, an update from the franchise has left its fans heartbroken.

Mumbai Indians’ skipper Rohit Sharma will be missing the match against Chennai Super Kings because of a hamstring injury in his left leg. In his absence, Kieron Pollard will get an opportunity to lead the side. It will be the second time when Pollard will be seen leading a team in the IPL.

Just before the toss, the franchise released a statement confirming that Rohit Sharma had suffered the injury during the last game of Mumbai Indians, which was against the Kings XI Punjab in Dubai on October 18th that was won by Kings XI Punjab after a double super-over game.

“Rohit Sharma has suffered left leg hamstring strain during Mumbai Indians’ last outing. Rohit has made good progress over last four days, while the management is taking one day at a time monitoring the recovery process in consultancy with BCCI,”

The statement added: “Rohit has been advised rest for the match against CSK. Kieron Pollard will lead the team tonight.”

Kieron Pollard, who won the toss and opted to field first also confirmed the news. Pollard revealed:

Rohit is struggling with his left hamstring and hopefully he will be fit soon and take the captaincy. We’re assessing him day-by-day and he is making good progress. Only change we have is Saurabh Tiwary comes in for Rohit,”

Talking about the game, this is the second clash between Mumbai Indians and Chennai Super Kings in the ongoing edition of the Indian Premier League. The first clash was also the season opener, which was won by Chennai Super Kings.
