The 15th match of IPL 2020 is currently being played between Royal Challengers Bangalore and Rajasthan Royals at Sharjah Cricket Ground. Having won the toss and elected to bat first, Rajasthan Royals haven’t started the way they would have liked to.
Both their openers, Jos Buttler and Steve Smith went back to the pavilion inside the first four overs of the innings. Sri Lankan fast bowler, Isuru Udana first got rid of skipper Steve Smith as the latter attempted a cut, which resulted in an inside edge and leading to a wicket. Jos Buttler soon followed as he too edged Saini’s delivery to Padikkal, who took a fine catch at second slip.
With Sanju Samson and Robin Uthappa at the crease, Rajasthan Royals needed a good partnership to get back into the game. However, the man-in-form Samson too was holed out to Yuzvendra Chahal on the latter’s first delivery of his spell.
‘That looked not out to me’- Fans express displeasure over third umpire’s decision concerning Sanju Samson’s wicket in IPL 2020.
Replays, though, created quite a confusion amongst the fans, a lot of whom questioning whether it was a clean catch or not. A few of Chahal’s fingers were under the ball, however, a portion of the ball too did seem to have touched the ground. This has led to quite a rage amongst the fans.
A lot of fans expressed their displeasure on the third umpire over giving it out, reasoning that the benefit of doubt must go to the batsmen. Here’s a look at some of those reactions:

T-1018 It is definitely conclusive that the ball touched the ground. The field umpire could do mistake but not sure why the third umpire given out ? What is the benefit of using technology? Ridiculous. #RCBvsRR @IPL @rajasthanroyals #Dream11IPL2020 pic.twitter.com/MZLhHIfVjN
