IPL 2020: After two terrific performances in the first two games that saw Sanju Samson rising to the top of the ladder with a couple of resonating performances, he has been a constant flop show since then.
His downfall started with the game against Kolkata Knightriders. That was the first game that saw Rajasthan playing away from Sharjah that was their fortress for the first couple of games and also Samson’s battleground.
However, he found himself gasping for breath against some fiery fast bowling from KKR. After struggling initially for the first few balls, he got out playing a poor shot straight down the throat of Sunil Narine in the ball of Shivam Mavi.
He was even poor in the game that followed. Chahal scalped him with an incredible catch off his own bowling that saw him walking back to the pavilion for 4 runs.
Tonight he couldn’t even open his account as Trent Boult’s brutal pace left him dazed and confused and he went back to pavilion for a duck, holing out to Rohit Sharma.
Gautam Gambhir was extremely vocal about this talented wicket-keeping batsman, vouching for him to become one of the most potent successors of MS Dhoni.
After reiterating himself for the first two matches, Samson didn’t give him much to holler for. He has continuosly struggled against that extra bit of pace and to make matters worse he has come undone to some fiery short balls, thereby exposing a gaping jugular for bowlers to target.
Twitter didn’t leave an iota of opportunity to troll the former Kolkata captain regarding his remarks over Sanju Samson’s initial fire.

You won't find Gambhir tweeting for rest of the season now. Samson's quota is almost over.

After one good innings on a flat track and small ground in Sharjah, Gautam Gambhir was saying Sanju Samson is the best young batsman in India.
This is the Gambhir who made Narine a permanent opener for KKR after one good innings and the team is still paying for it. 😂😂

Where is #gambhir who comes out firing whenever Samson performs well. N remember everyone loves Samson but no-one uses him as a opportunity to take dig on Dhoni which Gambhir always does #MIvRR
