Irfan Pathan Takes A Dig At MS Dhoni For His Performance Against SRH

Last night we saw MS Dhoni struggling with his fitness and batting in the middle against SunRisers Hyderabad in IPL 2020. He was trying his best as always, but it just wasn’t working out for him.

MS Dhoni was struggling to middle the bat in the game against Sunrisers Hyderabad

MS Dhoni was seen struggling to middle the ball towards the end of the game between the Chennai Super Kings and the Sunrisers Hyderabad. Dhoni finally promoted himself up the order at No.5 and had an ample amount of time to get his eye in. However, he found it really difficult to smash the ball and was constantly feeling dehydrated due to the heat.

As age seems to be catching up on the former Indian skipper, Irfan Pathan’s tweet clearly indicates him taking a dig at how Dhoni has been given special treatment and how other Indian players were shown the door giving age as a reason. No doubt Dhoni is an absolute legend of Indian cricket for whatever he has achieved both as a player and as a captain. But it is clearly seen that age is catching up on him and he is no longer the player that he was.

Former Indian all-rounder Irfan Pathan took an indirect dig at MS Dhoni for his performance against the Sunrisers Hyderabad in IPL 2020. Pathan took to twitter and expressed whatever he felt after MS Dhoni’s performance. He tweeted:

“Age is just a number for some and for others a reason to be dropped..”

Many Indian players like Yuvraj Singh, Virender Sehwag, Gautam Gambhir, etc. were dropped from the Indian team after they reached a certain age and were not given a proper farewell by the BCCI. On the other hand, MS Dhoni was backed till the very end and that is why Pathan felt that it was unfair on the other Indian players who were dropped and who were termed as slow fielders due to the age factor catching up on them.

CSK have now lost three consecutive games and MS Dhoni and his team will have to buckle up and start finding a winning combination in order to help CSK get back to winning ways.
