Is IPL 2020 going to be MS Dhoni’s last year as a professional cricketer? Is he planning to retire from all forms of cricket after IPL 2020? Is it the end of Dhoni’s era? Well, these are some of the questions fans have been asking on social media ever since the debacle of the legendary cricketer for CSK in the ongoing edition of the Indian Premier League.
What has been adding fuel to the already burning fire is the fact that MS Dhoni has been gifting his jerseys to youngsters from opponent teams. After gifting his jersey to Jos Buttler, Dhoni has now gifted his signed jersey to Hardik Pandya and Krunal Pandya.
While it’s hard to understand why all of a sudden he is gifting his jerseys, but the fans are speculating that the legendary cricketer will drop the retirement bomb when you least expect, just like how he left everyone stunned by announcing his retirement from international cricket.

Well, recently in an interview with the TOI, Kasi Viswanathan, cleared the air and claimed how one bad year, won’t change everything. He also stated how they weren’t in their potential best in IPL 2020. He said:
“Yes, definitely. I am very confident that Dhoni will lead CSK in 2021. He has won three titles for us in the IPL. This is the first year we have not qualified for the playoffs. No other team has done that. One bad year does not mean we will have to change everything,”
“We didn’t play to our potential this season. We lost games that we should have won. That pushed us back. The withdrawals of Suresh Raina and Harbhajan Singh coupled with Covid cases in the camp meant that the balance of the side was upset,”
