KL Rahul, the skipper of Kings XI Punjab, continues with his tremendous form in this ongoing 13th edition of the Indian Premier League. Though his team is struggling badly to set their feet in the league, with 6 defeats off the 9 games they have played so far but he is leading for the purple patch in the ongoing season.
KL Rahul is the highest run-getter in the ongoing season. In his last match against Mumbai Indians, he scored yet another half-century and scored 77 off 51 balls, striking at 150.8. During his knock, KL Rahul became the first batsman of IPL 2020 to breach the 500 run-mark.
And by doing so, Rahul created history and became the first-ever batsman in IPL to score over 500 runs in three back-to-back seasons.
KL Rahul has been a batting mainstay for Kings XI Punjab since his debut in the year 2018. He haad scored 659 runs in his maiden season for KXIP. During the last year’s edition, KL Rahul amassed 593 runs and made it to the playing XI of World Cup 2019. In the ongoing season, with his impeccable knock of 77* against Mumbai Indians, KL Rahul extended his run tally of IPL 2020 from 448 to 525 runs and he now has a firm grip on the No. 1 position as IPL 2020’s highest run-getter. He is leading with 132 runs over his KXIP teammate Mayank Agarwal.
KL Rahul, who made his debut in the year 2013 with Royal Challengers Bangalore, struggled for four years. During these four years, he was bought by Sunrisers Hyderabad as well, however, he returned to RCB. He also had to miss IPL 2017 because of a shoulder injury.
Despite missing out on a season, Rahul was one of the most expensive players in IPL 2018’s auction and was bought by KXIP for Rs. 11 crores. The ongoing season is his first season as a skipper for KXIP. Though he has excelled with the bat but his team is looking very bad right now, sitting in the second last position of the points table.
