Navdeep Saini Left Gautam Gambhir Red-Faced Last Night

The game of cricket is about uncertainties. Hardly we see a statement or a criticism getting backfire instantly. However, on Wednesday during the clash between Kolkata Knight Riders and Royal Challengers Bangalore, we witnessed something similar when Gautam Gambhir’s statement criticizing Virat Kohli backfired instantly. It happened when the two-time IPL-winning captain, Gautam Gambhir was commentating during the clash.

Gautam Gambhir has been very actively giving his opinions on the ongoing edition of the Indian Premier League. Gambhir never shies away from criticizing cricketers based on their performances and on Wednesday he expressed that he was no impressed with the decision of Virat Kohli.

While he praised the RCB skipper for giving the second over to Mohammed Siraj, but he stated that he doesn’t understand the reason behind handing the ball to Navdeep Saini. As per him, Chris Morris should have got the third over. During the match, he said:

“The brilliant captaincy that Virat Kohli had shown by giving the new ball to Mohammed Siraj, the positive captaincy and a fine move that paid off but this move surprises you,” 

He added:

I don’t get the reason behind giving the ball to a new bowler to bowl the third over after Chris Morris’ first over,”

However, even before Gautam Gambhir could complete his statement, Gambhir was left red-faced as Navdeep Saini was able to justify the statement of his skipper Virat Kohli. Navdeep got rid of Shubman Gill on the second delivery of the over. However, in the same over, Saini was smashed for a four and a six to Tom Banton in the same over.

Meanwhile, after defeating Kolkata Knight Riders by 8 wickets, Virat Kohli led side is now sitting peacefully at the second spot of the points table of IPL 2020.
