Sunil Gavaskar Slams The Selectors Over The Dellima Surrounding Rohit Sharma: Former Indian skipper and cricket expert Sunil Gavaskar believes that the Indian fans deserve to know what exactly is the issue with star opener Rohit Sharma’s injury. Rohit has not featured for the Mumbai Indians in IPL 2020 ever since their Super Over loss to the Kings XI Punjab as he has been struggling with his left hamstring.

But no one knows the extent of the injury and yet Rohit Sharma has been left out of the Test, ODI as well as the T20I squads of India for the tour of Australia.

Moreover, KL Rahul has been named as the vice-captain of the Indian team for the white-ball formats. Few hours after the announcement of the team, the Mumbai Indians shared photos of Rohit Sharma practicing in the nets for them.

Sunil Gavaskar stated that if the injury is so serious that Rohit Sharma cannot be named in the Indian team, then how come he was practicing in the nets.

“I didn’t see what was shown something about him practicing in the nets for Mumbai Indians. So I don’t know what his injury is. If his injury was serious, he won’t even be padded up. So we’re talking about a tour which is starting in December, the Test matches start around December 17 which is a month and a half away,” Sunil Gavaskar told Star Sports after the conclusion of Kings XI Punjab-Kolkata Knight Riders match.

“If he is practicing in the nets for Mumbai Indians, honestly I don’t know what kind of injury it is. I think a little bit of transparency and a little bit of openness about what actually is the problem with him will help everybody. The Indian cricket fan deserves to know more than anything else,” he added.

Only time will tell what exactly is the situation with Rohit Sharma and why he was not named in the Indian squad for the Australia tour.
