Over the years, if there’s one thing that fans have associated MS Dhoni and his IPL side — Chennai Super Kings is their ability to bounce back. Infact, when the team was banned for two years, they bounced back in IPL 2018 and won the tournament by giving impeccable performances throughout the season.
However, this time when CSK bounced back but it was too late as the team was already disqualified for the playoffs. But the Super Kings played the last three matches for their pride to bid adieu to IPL 2020 on a happy note, winning three in a row. Hence, CSK finished its journey in IPL 2020 with six wins in 14 games.
Leaving IPL 2020 on a positive note, Chennai Super Kings’ skipper left a message for the fans. He said:
“We’ll come back strong. That’s what we’re known for. We are eighth in the table but 14 points and we could have qualified,”
Furthermore, Dhoni admitted that it was a difficult season for Super Kings, however, he also hailed his side for bouncing back in the last 4 games despite being knocked out of the playoffs for the first time. He said:
“It was a difficult campaign. We committed a lot of errors. The last four games were a template of where we would like to be. Proud of the guys because if you’re lagging behind for 7-8 games, it becomes really difficult. It’s not easy, you won’t want to be in a dressing room that’s not enjoying cricket. Proud of them,”
