Ind vs Aus: The tables were drastically turned by the Australian bowlers on Day 3 of the ongoing day-night first Test against Australia in Adelaide. All the hard-work India put in during the Day 2 of the Test match evaporated in less than an hour all thanks to the masterclass performance by the Australian bowlers.
Team India was in a comfortable position after their bowlers delivered a stunning performance on Day 2. Jasprit Bumrah, Umesh Yadav, and Ravichandran Ashwin put the visitors on top and gave India a handy lead of 53 runs. However, day 3 saw a stunning performance from the Australian bowlers.
The proceedings were started by Mayank Agarwal and Jasprit Bumrah, however, the decision of sending Jasprit as a night watchman backfired on India. It only took two overs for Australia to get dismissed of Bumrah. Not even a run came when Cheteshwar Pujara too made his way to the pavilion. Mayank Agarwal and Ajinkya Rahane also found themselves reeling at 15 for 5 from 15 for 1.
Pat Cummins then dismissed Pujara with a stunner before Hazlwod put India in more trouble. Hazlewood dismissed Mayank Agarwal and Ajinkya Rahane for 9 and 0 respectively to take his team Australia to the top.
After the quick fall of wickets, all eyes were on Virat Kohli, however, the Indian skipper failed to deliver too as he could only score 4 runs before getting dismissed by Pat Cummings. His dismissal reduced India to 19 for 6. This was the last match for Kohli, as he will return back to India after this match.
Meanwhile, social media was flooded with reactions. From fans to cricketers and cricket experts, everyone took to their social media and expressed their disbelief on the matter.
Here, check out the reactions of twitterati on this:
I remember Pakistan being 26-6 against us at Eden gardens and going on to win the test . Moin Khan got a 50 . Can Saha and Vihari get a partnership going ? Hope springs eternal . #IndiavsAustralia #BorderGavaskarTrophy
