Twitterati React After India’s Sensational Win Against Australia In Boxing-Day Test

Boxing-Day Test

What a comeback!: The Indian cricket team managed to steal the show throughout the Boxing-day match as they scripted a sensational win in the Boxing-day match. Team India became only the second visiting team after England to defeat Australia in successive Boxing Day Tests at the MCG. With this win at the MCG, Team India was able to draw level the Border-Gavaskar Trophy 1-1.

Resuming the day with an overall lead of 2 and 14 overs to go before the availability of the new ball, the duo of Pat Cummins and Cameron Green were pretty defensive in their approach as they could only manage to score a mere 16 runs in those 14 overs.

Indian bowlers once again put on a stellar show against Australian batsmen. Jasprit Bumrah soon broke the Cummins-Green partnership by sending Cummins back to the pavilion.

Cameron Green played a lot more attacking approach after the dismissal of Pat Cummins before he was caught by Ravindra Jadeja off Mohammed Siraj. Post Green’s dismissal, India managed to shatter the line-up in quick successions.

Later, needing only 70 runs for the historic win, team India started on a bad note as they lost their opener, Mayank Agarwal, early. To make things worst, India’s Test specialist Cheteshwar Pujara was dismissed on 3 runs.

Ajinkya Rahane

However, Shubman Gill and stand-in skipper Ajinkya Rahane put on a stellar show and took India to victory. While Shubman scored 35 off 36 balls, smashing 7 fours. Ajinkya Rahane scored the winning run and was unbeaten on 27 runs.

Meanwhile, social media erupted after India’s sensational win against Australia. From cricketers, experts to fans, everyone applauded the amazing performance of team India. There were many who came up with funny memes while expressing their thoughts on India’s incredible win.
