Farhan Akhtar Slams People Who Are Trolling Arjun Tendulkar

Arjun Tendulkar, the young Indian cricketer and son of batting legend Sachin Tendulkar was roped in by Mumbai Indians for his base price of Rs. 20 lakhs. Mumbai Indians, which has always been a home for his father Sachin Tendulkar, will now be his home in IPL as well.

Arjun, who has often been spotted with the Mumbai Indians squad as a net bowler, is finally making his entry in the Indian Premier League. He was the last player to be auctioned in this year’s bidding.

However, the 22-year-old’s signing with Mumbai Indians raised quite a few eyebrows, and talks about nepotism kickstarted once again on social media. The cricketer and the franchise are getting trolled left, right and center because of his selection in the IPL.

While there were many who are trolling the cricketer, on the other hand, many came out in support of him. Among many, Bollywood actor and director Farhan Akhtar also took to his Twitter and came out in support of Arjun Tendulkar.

In his Tweet, Farhan Akhtar revealed how both of them go to the same gym. He claimed that Arjun is a very hard-working person and how he works on his fitness. He wrote:

“I feel I should say this about #Arjun_Tendulkar. We frequent the same gym & I’ve seen how hard he works on his fitness, seen his focus to be a better cricketer. To throw the word ‘nepotism’ at him is unfair & cruel. Don’t murder his enthusiasm & weigh him down before he’s begun.”

Movie exhibitor Akshay Rathi also came out in support of Arjun Tendulkar. Reacting to Farhan’s tweet, Akshay wrote:

His performance in the domestic scene has earned him what he’s got. And like in the movies, his performance is the only thing that will pave the course of his career! Armchair critics will keep talking & that shouldn’t matter! Hope he rocks the IPL! #ArjunTendulkar.”

Arjun Tendulkar’s sister Sara Tendulkar also penned down a heartfelt post for her brother. In her Instagram story, she wrote:

Nobody can take this achievement away from you. It is yours.”
