Fans React To ‘Rare Moment’ As MS Dhoni Dropped A Sitter Behind The Stumps

MS Dhoni

Former Indian skipper and current CSK skipper MS Dhoni is usually known for his lightning-fast stumpings. He is hailed as one of the greatest players to have ever don the wicketkeeping gloves. He rarely makes an error behind the stumps.

However, the skipper didn’t start the game against Sunrisers Hyderabad in the best of the ways as he dropped a routine catch off Jonny Bairstow from behind the stumps. It was a rare moment and a rare lapse in focus by MS Dhoni, who is known for safe hands behind the stumps.

The moment took place on just the second ball of the first over, with Deepak Chahar bowling to Jonny Bairstow. Bairstow tried to flick the ball towards the leg-side, however, he didn’t make a proper connection with the ball and could only edge it to the wicket-keeper.

MS Dhoni dived to his left, managing to get both hands to the ball, however, it popped out as soon as it hit his gloves. This mistake from MS Dhoni handed an early lifeline to Jonny Bairstow. However, he couldn’t make the most of the lifeline as he departed for just seven runs.

Meanwhile, the fans on social media were left in shock after they saw MS Dhoni drop a catch early on, and as expected the video of the rare moment has gone crazily viral on social media.
