Royal Challengers Bangalore scripted a historic victory at Wankhede today as they demolished an ailing Rajasthan Royals to the ground. Chasing a massive total of 177, Devdutt Padikkal’s brilliant century laced with a fine 72 from Virat Kohli sealed the fate of the match for the table-toppers.

Now out of all the records which were penned by Royal Challengers Bangalore in today’s game, Virat Kohli kissed an incredible feat in today’s game. After playing a staggering 14 seasons for the same team that saw him captaining the outfit to great heights despite not being able to kiss the silverware, he has crafted unfathomable heights for himself.

He became the first one to achieve the milestone of 6000 runs in IPL as he stayed unbeaten for an incredible 72 tonight.

The man who is in closest contention of this herculean feat, Suresh Raina congratulated Virat Kohli on this and also expressed his pleasure and affection for the Indian captain.

His tweet about the Indian skipper read, “This is HUGE, meet the first-ever player to reach 6000 runs in IPL @imVkohli It was a delight to watch, more power to you. Wishing you many more successes in life.”

The Indian skipper penned the record of the highest individual score in a single season of IPL in 2016 when he almost single-handedly rocked the entire IPL roster with 973 runs. No one else has managed to come close to this incredulous feat.

Suresh Raina himself has managed to score 5448 runs until now and may very well have to accelerate the rate of his scoring considering the fact that he is already headed towards sunset.

Royal Challengers Bangalore are currently at the top of the IPL 2021 points table with four victories from four games that have already started stoking hopes for the fans who have been deprived of the silverware ever since the inception of the tournament,
