Umpires play a very important part in the smooth conduction of cricket matches however they do not get much appreciation that they deserve. However, with the increase in the sponsor list in the now-suspended IPL 2021 season, the salaries of the umpires also increased. As the season kickstarted amidst the pandemic, the umpires also had to undergo similar tests and quarantine periods like the players, and these are a few things that aren’t spoken of much.
