Fans Are Slamming Shakib Al Hasan For Threatening Umpire By Kicking Stumps

The ongoing Dhaka Premier Division T20 Cricket League has taken a controversial turn after a few shocking scenes went viral. Star Bangladesh’s all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan was seen kicking and uprooting the stumps amidst the game.

Well, the incident took place on Friday during the 40th match of the ongoing 2021 Dhaka Premier League (DPL) between Mohammedan Sporting Club and Abahani Limited, when Shakib Al Hasan stirred controversy while expressing dissent at the decision of the on-field umpire.

It happened after Shakib came to bowl in the fifth over of the run-chase and he was hit by Mushfiqur Rahim for a four and a six. Shakib ended up leading 10 runs in that over.

After one of the deliveries of that over, he appealed for an LBW decision against Mushfiqur.  However, the on-field umpire didn’t give the batter out. And in a surprising turn of events, Shakib lashed out at the umpire and even went on to kick the stumps in sheer frustration.

The video of the same has been going viral on social media. Here, watch the video:

Well, the video obviously didn’t go down with the fans, who are now trolling him left, right, and center for misbehaving with the umpire.

Here, check out the reaction of Twitterati on this:

Earlier, Shakib was banned by ICC for failing to report corrupt approaches by an alleged Indian bookie during the Indian Premier League and in a tri-series involving Sri Lanka, Bangladesh and Zimbabwe. He returned from the ban and was recently seen playing for Kolkata Knight Riders in IPL 2021, which was suspended mid-way because of the outbreak of the COVId-19 within the bio-bibble.

However, Shakib won’t be a part of the KKR side in the rest of the IPL 2021 as the Bangladesh Cricket Board has decided against giving a NOC.
