A Fan Blamed Gautam Gambhir For AB de Villiers’s Failure And His Reason Is Too Funny

AB de Villiers

Kolkata Knight Riders had a great start to the second phase of the IPL 2021 as they defeated Royal Challengers Bangalore by 9 wickets. While the KKR players gave an all-around performance to win the game, on the other hand, fans were left disappointed after a dismal show by the top guns of RCB, including the likes of AB de Villiers and Virat Kohli.

Earlier in the match, Kohli won the toss and opted to bat first. However, his decision backfired as KKR bowlers kept picking wickets at regular intervals and as a result, the RCB players never got the chance to get going.

Captain Kohli went for 5 after getting LBW to Prasidh Krishna, Devdutt Padikkal was dismissed by Dinesh Karthik and debutant KS Bharat was out caught in the deep. However, the dismissal that shocked everyone was of AB de Villiers.

Fans were expecting RCB stalwart De Villiers to take his team out of the trouble as they had already lost three wickets for 51 runs. However, AB was dismissed on a golden duck after receiving an unplayable delivery by Kolkata Knight Riders’ all-rounder Andre Russell that left him beaten.

In the meantime, after the stalwart was out for a golden duck, social media was flooded with reactions from disappointed fans. Among many, a Twitter user named Peeyush Sharma came up with a hilarious Tweet, where he blamed former Indian and KKR cricketer Gautam Gambhir for AB de Villiers’ failure.

In a jest, the fan wrote how Gambhir jinxed ABDV’s performance by predicting that he will hit the most number of sixes in this game. Gambhir had said: “Ab De Villiers will hit the most Sixes in this match”

This isn’t the first time when Gambhir’s prediction has gone wrong. He often finds himself at the receiving end of trolling for his ‘jinxing abilities’. Meanwhile, there were many who came up with hilarious memes and jokes while trolling Gautam Gambhir after AB de Villiers’ failure.
