Aakash Chopra Gave A Brilliant Reply To Michael Vaughan For Blaming The IPL

Aakash Chopra gave a fitting reply to Michael Vaughan: Ever since the fifth and final Test match between India and England was canceled due to a COVID outbreak in the Indian contingent, the cricket fraternity has been divided into two. The Indian cricketers and the cricketing board are getting heavily criticized by former England cricketers, citing that the upcoming IPL 2021 is the reason behind the cancellation of the Test as it could have been postponed to a later date.

Now, former England skipper Michael Vaughan and former Indian cricketer Aakash Chopra were indulged in an argument on the matter.

It all started after Vaughan took to Twitter and stated that he doesn’t believe the last and final Test match between India and England in Manchester was canceled for anything other than the IPL.

For the unversed, after the 5th Test match was canceled the IPL franchises started to arrange for charter flights for their respective players, who are currently in England, to bring them to UAE. Taking a dig at the Indian cricketers, Vaughan wrote:

IPL teams chartering planes .. 6 days quarantining required in the UAE .. 7 days till the tournament starts !!!! Don’t tell me the Test was cancelled for any other reason but the IPL ..,”

The Tweet was soon flooded with reactions from the fans, who started trolling him left, right, and center. Among many, former Indian cricketer Aakash Chopra also took to his Twitter and gave a fitting reply to Vaughan.

In his reply, Aakash Chopra reminded Vaughan how England was also quick to call off their South Africa series last year. Aakash Chopra was referring to England’s stance last year, when they decided to fly back home midway from the ODI series against South Africa after a similar situation erupted in their camp. He wrote:

“England called off their tour to SA in similar circumstances i.e. Uneasiness over a COVID outbreak. #JustSaying”

Replying to this, Michael Vaughan wrote that he didn’t agree with England back then and won’t agree to what India has done now. He wrote:

And I didn’t agree with that then as I don’t agree with what India have done now …”
