Rohit Sharma, who is in a red hot form with the bat against England in the ongoing 5-match Test series, has not only managed to score runs but has also emerged out to be a most trusted opener in the longest format of the game as well.

As he batted on Day 3 of the ongoing 4th Test match, Rohit achieved another milestone in his career as an opener as he completed 11,000 runs as an opener in international cricket. During the same knock, Rohit also crossed the 15000-run mark in international cricket.

Talking about the game, England and India, both the teams have been neck to neck in the ongoing 4th Test match. At Stumps on Day 2, the Indian side was at 43/0 with openers Rohit Sharma and KL Rahul standing strong. Both the openers gave a solid start to their side as they tackled the England bowler cautiously.

On Day 2, both the cricketers had the onus of playing out the first hour of the morning session. They were able to thwart the England bowling attack, amidst a few misses here and there. The duo brought much-needed momentum to the Indian side and together they laid a strong foundation for the batters to come.

However, the stunning partnership soon came to an end as KL Rahul had to walk back to the pavilion after scoring 47 runs. Rohit stood tall at the other end and was seen playing some stunning shots, including his favorite pull stroke. Cheteshwar Pujara joined hands with Rohit after Rahul’s dismissal and showed intent at the crease.
