Indian all-rounder Shardul Thakur starred with the bat on the opening day of the 3rd Test match against England at The Oval. He played a sensational knock of 57 off just 36 balls to help team India inch towards a respectable first-innings total.
He walked out to bat after India’s big guns were already dismissed and if it was not for Thakur’s stunning knock, Team India would have been in a dire situation. Shardul scored 57 from just 36 balls as he stitched a 63-run stand in just 48 balls with Umesh Yadav. Shardul’s knock was laced with 7 boundaries and 3 sixes.
Shardul Thakur has been receiving praises from all the corners. From cricketers around the world to fans and experts, everyone is all praises for the cricketer.
After day1, Shardul, who is fondly called ‘Lord’ by his fans, opened up on his legendary nickname. BCCI took to their social media and shared a video where Thakur talked about the nickname and he asserted that he is happy with all the love he is getting from the fans. He said:
