Srikar Bharat Created One Of The Most Glorious Moments In IPL’s History

Srikar Bharat became an overnight star after he smashed a last-ball six to help his team Royal Challengers Bangalore to defeat Delhi Capitals by 7 wickets in the match last night at the Dubai International Stadium.

Royal Challengers Bangalore was chasing 165 runs and they needed 16 runs for a win in the last over. However, the Virat Kohli-led side could only amass 11 runs from the 5 deliveries and required 5 runs from the remaining last ball. This is when Bharat did the unthinkable and smashed a stunning last-ball six off Avesh Khan’s delivery to take RCB home in the match.

In the last over, Maxwell wanted the strike but most of the balls were played by Srikar Bharat. At the 3rd ball of the match, as Bharat played a dot ball, Delhi Capitals‘ Avesh Khan was seen laughing at him. However, little did he know that they would lose the match just 2 balls later to his laugh.

It was a magical knock from Bharat and the last-ball six was a cherry on top. They needed 5 runs off the last ball but the RCB’s batsman hit a six clearing just above Axar Patel on the boundary line.

Earlier, in the match, chasing a target of 165 runs, the Virat-led side got off to the worst possible start as Devdutt Padikkal (0) was sent back to the pavilion in the very first over by Anrich Nortje. But that wasn’t it from Nortje, as the Proteas pacer got the big fish Virat Kohli (4) in his next over and RCB was reduced to 6/2.

AB de Villiers and Srikar Bharat then joined hands at the crease and brought back the momentum for RCB. The duo put on 49 runs for the third wicket, but as soon as the innings started coming back on track, Delhi Capitals managed to get the wicket of de Villiers (26). RCB remained in the hunt to chase down 165 runs and in the end, eventually, it was Bharat and Maxwell who took the team home. Bharat played a sensational knock of 72* off 51 balls.

Despite winning the match, RCB is currently sitting in the third position, while Delhi Capitals is sitting at the second position at the points table.
