Chennai Super Kings’ star opener Ruturaj Gaikwad smashed his maiden century in IPL in a match against Rajasthan Royals in Abu Dhabi. He became the youngest CSK player to score a century in the IPL.
Batting against Rajasthan Royals, Gaikwad notched up the triple figures with a stunning six on the final ball of the innings. He returned back with an unbeaten score of 101 off 60 balls as CSK gave a challenging target of 190 runs to the Royals. Gaikwad smashed as many as nine fours and five sixes during his stunning knock of 101 runs to make a mockery of the Royals’ bowling attack in their 12th round encounter.
In the final over of the CSK’s innings, Jadeja faced four deliveries, leaving Gaikwad with two deliveries and he smashed a fantastic six off Mustafizur Rahman’s delivery to complete the coveted landmark.
The entire CSK dugout was already standing waiting to celebrate Gaikwad’s maiden century. And As soon as the CSK opener struck the six over deep mid-wicket, the entire dugout was on their feet. People on social media also went berserk and came up with amazing reactions to the brilliant performance of Gaikwad.
Among many, former Indian cricketer and legendary batsmen Virender Sehwag also posted a special tweet for Ruturaj Gaikwad, where he called the CSK opener a special player, who is made for greater things. He also claimed that it is just a matter of time before he dominates the cricket world. He wrote:
