Frustrated Mitchell McClenaghan Gives A Rude Reply To An Indian Cricket Fan

New Zealand cricketer Mitchell McClenaghan came up with a rude reply to a fan who teased the New Zealand pacer following the defeat of the Black Caps in the 3-match T20I series. Rohit Sharma’s side won all three games and completed a clean sweep (3-0) against the Kiwis.

“New Zealand lost series”  said a fan in a tweet to Mitchell McClenaghan.

The Tweet soon caught the attention of Mitchell McClenaghan, who was quick to come up with a reply to the fan. However, the out-of-favor New Zealand player used the phrase “meaningless series” to define the just concluded T20I series which New Zealand lost.

Yes, you read that right. He also stressed the fact that NZ toured India 72 hours after losing the T20 World Cup final against Australia and had to play 3 games within a span of 6 days. He also reminded everyone about how India enjoyed a 10-day rest after bowing out of the T20 World Cup early. He replied:

“Did they? You mean in a meaningless series 72 hours after a WC final defeat with 3 games in 5 days playing a team with 10 days rest in their home conditions?.”

Here, check out the Tweet:

Well, his rude remark didn’t go down well with the Indian fans. New Zealand lost the T20 World Cup final against Australia on November 14th in Dubai and had to play the first T20I in India three days later. The Indian side completed a clean sweep in the just concluded 3-match T20I series.

India’s head coach Rahul Dravid also echoed his thoughts on the matter and expressed it’s not easy for NZ to play a World Cup final and then to turn up to play three games in six days. He said:

“It was a really good series win. Everyone played really well right through the series. It feels good, nice to start well. We are also quite realistic. We have to keep our feet on the ground and be a bit realistic about this win. Not easy for NZ to play a World Cup final and then to turn up three days later to play three games in six days, was never going to be easy for them. Nice from our perspective but we have to learn from this series and move forward,”
