Here’s Why Hardik Pandya’s Luxury Watches Are Seized By Custom Officials

Hardik Pandya and controversies go hand-in-hand. The star all-rounder has been making a lot of news these days, however, for all the controversial reasons. The star cricketer seemed to have landed in big trouble after customs officials impounded two watches worth INR 5 crore from his possession.

As per the latest reports, Hardik Pandya, who was returning back to India with his teammates after enduring a disappointing T20 World Cup 2021, where the Men in Blue failed to reach the knock-outs.

However, Hardik was stopped by the customs department and two watches worth INR 5 crore were detained.  As per the reports, Hardik was found in possession of his watches without the invoices.

Meanwhile, the cricketer has been under a scanner for his poor performances. The star all-rounder has been struggling to attain match fitness and has failed badly to impress with his performances lately.

Hardik was last seen playing for the Men in Blue in India’s Super 12 match against Namibia at the T20 World Cup but didn’t get to bat or bowl. He was included in India’s T20 World Cup squad to solve their problems however, he has failed to do so. Hardik could only manage to score 69 runs only in as many games he played.

Meanwhile, if reports are to be believed that the Indian team is looking forward to groom, m Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) all-rounder Venkatesh Iyer as Hardik’s replacement in the playing XI.

Hardik Pandya has not yet recovered from his lower back injury. However, if the former T20 captain (Kohli in this case) was bent on having him at No 6 as a specialist batter, Chetan (chief national selector Chetan Sharma) and his team had to relent,” a senior BCCI official, privy to selection developments, told PTI on conditions of anonymity.
